Delay claims in construction refer to seeking compensation for time lost and associated costs due to project delays. These claims are typically based on proving that the delays were not the contractor’s fault and that the project schedule was initially agreed upon in the contract. To prove a delay claim, expert testimony is generally necessary. Implementing Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling can help reduce losses.
