 In this session, Jeff shares practical insights on Fault Managed Power, an emerging technology transforming how power is delivered and managed in modern systems.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain what Fault Managed Power Systems (FMPS) are and how they differ from traditional power delivery methods.
  • Identify key safety standards that apply to FMPS, including UL/CSA/IEC 62368-1 for Class 2 power and UL 1400-1 for Class 4 power.
  • Describe the main components that make up an FMPS and how they work together as a complete system.
  • Assess where and why FMPS should be used, including typical use cases, markets served, and current applications in Canada.
  • Outline the basic design and installation process for an FMPS, from planning through implementation.
  • Experience a live demonstration of FMPS equipment, including product operation, installation and wiring practices, and use of the management GUI.
