The Ottawa ECA will host our 61st Annual General Meeting on March 4, 2025 at Mill Street Brewery. A reception, dinner and association reports will be provided along with special guest speaker, Dr. Ian Lee, Associate Professor in the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University. He is a member of the Carleton University Board of Governors, 2016-2019. he is also a member of the Sprott School MBA Committee, Carleton University EURUS Advisory Board and the Carleton University Graduate Appeal Committee since 2010. Dr. Lee appears extensively in the media including many television stations, radio stations and in the national and local print media. He has appeared before the House of Commons and Senate finance, banking, industry and trade committees dozens of times concerning public policy debates and has attended every budget lockup as an expert witness to Global TV since 2008. This is just the tip of the iceberg. We are very excited to have Dr. Lee join us once again.

Ottawa’s ECA is proud to celebrate our 60th Anniversary. To mark this milestone in style, we are combining our Christmas Gala with anniversary festivities at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier Main Ballroom on Friday, December 6th, 2024. With an expected attendance of several hundred guests, we warmly invite you, your family, colleagues, and clients to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime gala event.

All Ottawa ECA members and their senior staff are invited to the fall all-members meeting. It takes place Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at the Mill Street Brew Pub, 555 Wellington Street. A reception will start at 5:00pm, dinner at 6:00 pm followed by some brief reports and guest speaker, David Small, Partner at Ellement. Members can register online on our website under the “Events” tab.

ECA Ottawa’s 2024 Golf Tournament and Charity Fundraiser takes place Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Loch March Golf and Country Club. Last years event was completely sold out and we expect the same this year, so register early to ensure your foursome. Tuesday, June 4, 2024 – ECA Ottawa is hosting our Spring All-Members Meeting on June 4th, 2024 at the popular Mill Street Brew Pub, 555 Wellington St. This is a semi-annual meeting featuring reports, updates and valuable information on the Association and your industry. The evening includes an introductory reception, a full dinner, member updates and guest speakers. Our guest speakers are Ross Holden and Tim McGrath, experts in aboriginal strategies to comply with incoming government requirements. They assist in recruitment, training and provide mentoring in the best practices of IT, HR and Aboriginal Policy Development and provide opportunities to Aboriginal people who desire to work in the construction and other industries.

ECA Ottawa is pleased to present our 2024 Change Order Guide, available to both our members and the industry. When assessing the cost of a manhour of electrical labor, we highly recommend utilizing this new guide. It will provide valuable assistance in pricing Change Orders or Additional Work Orders for fixed-price contracts in 2024.
