STUDENT CO-OP PROGRAM

The Ottawa ECA is please to provide pur ‘School to Work’ program that opens the door for students to explore and work in apprenticeship occupations through the Cooperative Education program. Students have an opportunity to become registered apprentices and work towards becoming certified journeypersons in a skilled trade while completing their secondary school diplomas.

For the first time, the Ottawa ECA and the IBEW have partnered to promote and support a Grade 12 student based apprenticeship program. This program offers a limited number of vetted students, registered as 1st year apprentices and trained to hit the ground running from day 1. Students are available during their fall or winter school term and do not count against your ratio.

To find out how your company can benefit from this program, please contact the Ottawa ECA office by calling 613-238-1124 or email claire@ecaottawa.ca.

You can indicate your interest in this program by registering with the Ottawa ECA office which will ensure you will have access to a co-op student. Please register as soon as possible as the available students go quickly.
