Ottawa’s ECA Change Order Guide 2024
Ottawa’s ECA advises its members to include their hourly rate for Contemplated Change Orders on the bid form when submitting bids to general contractors or the school board. This recommendation also applies to any job where there may be a conflict regarding hourly rates.
It’s important to understand that your bid submission serves as your contract at the time of tender. If there is no specified pricing or language in your submission for changes, issues may arise. Your submission acts as your legal contract until you receive a CCDC or other contractual document for your review and acceptance. By accepting your bid, the general contractor or school board is also accepting your terms and conditions.
The Change Order Guide 2024 is designed to help you consider the cost of a manhour of electrical labour. This Guide will assist in pricing Change Orders or Additional Work Orders on fixed-price contracts for 2024.
