A reception will start at 5:00pm, dinner at 6:00 pm followed by some brief reports and guest speaker, David Small, Partner at Ellement. What a Grand Celebration!
This year, the Ottawa ECA proudly turned 60. To mark this milestone in style, we combined our Christmas Gala with 60th Anniversary festivities at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier Main Ballroom on Friday, December 6th, 2024.
With several hundred guests in attendance, the Association pulled out all the stops with a jazz band and champagne dress wearing server at the reception. Also featured were a welcoming harp player, dancers and staff serving drinks and hors d’oeuvres.
Upon entering the main ballroom guests were welcmed by a 30′ tall violinist and featured dancers. This was followed by an historical slide show, VJ music, a traditional turkey dinner, live feed speaches and finally agroup of dancers. The dancing then took over as the Sway Band took the stage.
It was a wonderful event enjoyed by over 300 members, sponsors, colleagues, family and friends as part of this once-in-a-lifetime gala event.

The Ottawa ECA’s Fall All-Members Meeting was a well-attended and informative event, drawing close to 50 participants. Hosted by Chairman Roch Picknell at the Mill Street Brew Pub, the meeting featured updates on the association’s finances, education and apprenticeship programs, partner associations, ECA Ontario, and the relaunched national electrical office (CECA). The event concluded with an engaging and insightful presentation by Joy Pokrywa of SP Safety Solutions, who discussed the practical steps required to achieve COR certification. As a token of appreciation, the Ottawa ECA Board provided each attendee with a complimentary copy of the new 2024 Code Book.
Thank you to all who attended and we look forward to seeing you at our next meeting in 2026.

Tuesday, June 4, 2024 – ECA Ottawa is hosting our Spring All-Members Meeting on June 4th, 2024 at the popular Mill Street Brew Pub, 555 Wellington St. This is a semi-annual meeting featuring reports, updates and valuable information on the Association and your industry. The evening includes an introductory reception, a full dinner, member updates and guest speakers. Our guest speakers are Ross Holden and Tim McGrath, experts in aboriginal strategies to comply with incoming government requirements. They assist in recruitment, training and provide mentoring in the best practices of IT, HR and Aboriginal Policy Development and provide opportunities to Aboriginal people who desire to work in the construction and other industries.

ECA Ottawa approved the new Board of Directors at its AGM on February 29th, 2024.
